Play and playfulness often get pushed to the margins of life after we leave childhood, leading to an overly serious and rigid existence. Within academia, as in life, this can lead to dullness, burnout, loss of passion and purpose, and deviation from our true selves.

Play can be the key to finding more joy, purpose, and creativity. And, yet, adopting a playful attitude might be nothing less than an act of rebellion.

This session will invite you to explore playfulness in your adult life and consider how play can be invited into your work as an academic.

You might leave with the inspiration to playfully rebel against the stifling structures and narratives that confine you.
