The power of a story

Fri Apr 17, 12:30 - 2:30 PM (MDT)
CU Building, Room 470, 1250 14th St, Denver, CO

Teaching with stories through case studies and simulations enables students to connect their learning to real world situations; stimulates curiosity and engagement; fosters critical and creative thinking; and can be tremendously fun. This session invites faculty to a rich discussion of the nuts & bolts of teaching with case studies and simulations. Participants will also have an opportunity to virtually climb Mt. Everest in a demo teamwork simulation. This workshop aims to provide practical tools and skills that participants can immediately apply in their own classes, as well as a space for critical discussion about the role and effective use of cases and simulations in classroom and online learning.
